What our interior painting service includes
A good interior paint job is mostly prep. Paint shows every dent, crack, and rough patch under it, so we spend the time to get the surfaces right before the first coat goes on.
- Protection first. We cover floors with drop cloths, move and cover furniture, and mask outlets, switch plates, hardware, and anything that does not get paint.
- Surface repair. We fill nail holes and dents, patch small cracks in drywall and plaster, and caulk the gaps between trim and walls.
- Sanding and priming. We sand patches and glossy surfaces so the new paint bonds well, and we spot-prime repairs and stains so they do not show through.
- Two finish coats where needed. Cut-in lines at ceilings and trim are done by hand for clean edges. Walls are rolled for an even finish.
- Daily cleanup. At the end of each day we put away tools and clear walkways, so you can use your home.
Rooms and surfaces we paint
We paint living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, stairways, basements, and entire homes. Surfaces include walls, ceilings, crown molding, baseboards, window and door trim, interior doors, closets, wainscoting, and railings and spindles.
Painting older New England homes
Many homes in Greater Boston, Southern New Hampshire, and Southern Maine are more than 50 years old. They often have plaster walls, many layers of trim paint, and small cracks from settling. We plan for this in the estimate, so you know the prep work before we start. For homes built before 1978, federal lead-safe work rules apply when work disturbs old paint. Ask us about your home during the estimate.
Choosing colors and sheens
Sheen matters as much as color. Flat and matte finishes hide small flaws on walls and ceilings. Eggshell and satin are easier to clean in busy rooms. Semi-gloss is a common choice for trim and doors. If you are not sure, we can bring samples and help you test colors in your light before you decide.

Interior Painting questions
How long does an interior painting project take?
One or two rooms usually take one to three days. A full house can take one to two weeks. The time depends on the size, the number of colors, ceiling height, and how much repair the walls need. Your estimate includes a schedule.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Please remove small items, wall art, and breakables. We move and cover the large furniture in the middle of the room and put it back when we finish.
Can we stay in the house while you paint?
Yes. We work room by room when possible, keep walkways clear, and clean up at the end of each day so you can use your home at night.
Do you repair drywall and plaster before painting?
Yes. We fill nail holes, patch small dents and cracks, caulk gaps in trim, and sand before we prime and paint. If we find larger damage, we tell you and include it in the estimate before work starts.
Which paint do you use?
We use quality interior paints from established paint makers and choose the sheen for each room, for example a scrubbable finish for kitchens, baths, and hallways. If you have a favorite brand or color, we can use it.
